Choosing the Right Gift for a Mormon Baptism

Giving a gift on a baptism day is really not necessary, but some people like to do it because they think it’s the right thing to do. Some people do it because it’s tradition. In the Catholic church it’s accustomed to bring a gift to a baptism, people will even give money on a baptism day.

But, in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints it is not a tradition or even necessary to bring a gift. The biggest gift of the day is the actual baptism itself. A gift will actually distract from the baptism so you should be very selective in what you choose to give. I personally don’t bring gifts to a Mormon baptism and if I do get something, I wait till later on that day to give it.

If you feel prompted and you feel like you have to buy one. I would give something of greater meaning. Like a set of scriptures for example is a great gift to give away on such an occasion. If the baptism is for a child or a youth, then maybe a CTR ring can also be a great gift. CTR stands for Choose The Right and it’s a commonly use phrase in the Mormon church that reminds us to choose the right when we’re out in the world.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

The last example I would like to mention when you’re wondering what gift to give at a baptism is a Jacob Ethan T-Shirt. Jacob Ethan is a clothing company that designs gospel and Mormon related t-shirts and apparel. Their shirts are really nice and they have a very positive uplifting message. which makes the t-shirts very motivating to do the right thing.

Jacob Ethan has several designs to choose from: They have a Choose the right T-shirt, Arise and Shine Forth T-Shirt, Be Prayerful T-Shirt, Be Humble T-shirt, Be Clean T-Shirt, Be Grateful T-Shirt, Tree of Life T-Shirt just to mention a few. These T-shirts have a positive message and are great baptism gifts for boys and baptism gifts for girls. But if I were you I would save the t-shirt gift for later. Being that it’s a piece of clothing, I would give that to the person getting baptized way before or way after their baptism.

Hope this information was useful to you and the next time you’re invited to a Mormon baptism, you’ll know exactly what to do and what to give for baptism gift ideas.

Besides imagining what Jesus looked like, the way Jesus the Christ walked and talked is also a mystery.  Details on the Lord’s favorite meals and time of the day is a dream come true, for all of us to know, and the only evidence we have concerning His characteristics is through the words He spoke thousands of years ago.

Hundreds of movies on the life and time of Jesus give illustrations on what He probably looked like but every person who lives on God’s green earth have a unique personality.  We know He is the son of God, but Jesus is a man who had needs, wants and desires.  I’ve personally learned that Jesus wanted acceptance from His people, some wanted Him and some rejected Him.  This personal need of Jesus the Christ, remains to this day as millions continue to accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior every year.

The nature of Jesus the Christ, from what we learn in the scriptures, shows how He is a man who loved those who felt unloved, He cautioned many to go and ‘sin no more,’ and He also had a deep passion for every goal the Father sent Him to do.  First, I want to dig deeper in the revelation concerning His love.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

Jesus said these words, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word; and My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him” (John 14:23).  Notice how He says if you loved Him you will keep His word?  So many people abuse the idea of God being love and some ignorantly think it’s OK to accept God’s love without giving love in return.  Rarely do we human beings love individuals who don’t love us back, nor would we settle for a relationship that lacks cooperation and is absent from love.  In other words, God can love you more deeply once you decide to love Him just the same.

God is not emotional with His love but we humans can be so greedy with our affections and love.  The Lord is very stable and balanced with His love and it’s time for us to learn how to be stable and balanced with our relationships.  Therefore, the Father wants you to desire Him with a lot of passion and trust.

The Father requires perfection and yet we hear a lot of sermons telling us how no one is perfect.  The reality is, everything has been perfected through Jesus the Christ!  The word of God is perfect, Heaven is perfect, God is perfect, the blue sky is perfect but we think all humans should lack perfection!  Moses was the meekest man on earth after killing an Egyptian, and he was able to walk into God’s presence, on Mount Horeb, this seems perfect to me.   “Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you” (John 5:14).

In closing, Jesus the Christ completed every goal He set out to complete and He did it perfectly.  He walked and talked about the Father and how much He gives life to those who choose to receive Him.  It is time for you to let Him complete His will and desire for your life so you can live triumphantly.

Hello to every one. Sharing my testimony is a great opportunity for me to show how God’s love is different from that of men. I was born in Cameroon, lost my father when I was just a couple of months old. My childhood life was not an easy one. I was a suckling and also suffered from demonic attacks. I had chronic convulsions that took me to the hospital like every two weeks or so. Because of the demonic attacks, I also became afraid of the night. All these things happened while my mother was away. Soon after my father died, my mother also became seriously sick. I remembered seeing her just about one or two times a year. I was taken care of by her sister, who was never home. In fact my childhood was like hell.

As I grow up to the age of 11, my mother came to know about God and started getting better and so she could spend more time at home. She started taking me to church. First, I was healed from the convulsion, and then knew the power of the name ‘’Jesus”. When attacked at night, I just shouted ‘’Jesus” and every thing was ok.

It now came to my education. I couldn’t read nor write and this cause me to repent a lot while in primary school. After about 6 years of prayer and fasting, I could finally read and write. And not only could I read and write, but I was always the first in my class. I was 18 by then.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

As my life unfolded, I let my friends gradually drag me to the alcohol world. And by the age of 20, I was a full time beer drinker and later started smoking too. While doing this, I stopped performing my Christian duties. I later found out that I wasn’t living the kind of life I ever dreamt of. By the age of 23 I became depressed with one of the most intense forms of depression. I had reduced concentration, no feelings and problems sleeping at night. I suffered this alone for 3 whole years because I had loose all trust of everyone around me.

When I became 26, my brother organized and I travelled to Germany. I was still suffering from depression. How I passed all the interviews at the embassy and at the airport is still a mystery to me till this day. Just after two weeks of stay in Germany, I checked into a Psychology home. I came out just after two months more depressed. I was just living my life like a hollow man.

Now, this is the part I what us to take note of, and it’s the prime reason I’m sharing this testimony. One Sunday, after smoking the last stick of cigarette from a whole pack, I heard a voice say to me ‘’that’s your last”. I didn’t recognize it as the voice of the Lord. Later that day, I left home involuntary and went to an open wheat field. There the lord came back to me. I felt on the ground and after the incidence, I wake up and depression was gone. So brethren you can see, the love of God is beyond our human thinking, even after saving me from convulsion and educational failure, I went out of his fold and when my life needed help the most, he came back.

This time, I have made up my mind to follow him come rain come sun. He is a God that we need to worship in trembling and fear.

The one year old baby sat in an empty tub all alone in the bathroom for hours without toys or food.  Her mother was drunk and asleep in the living room.  As the child grew her mother punished her regularly for being a child. If she was dirty she was spanked. If she spilled her milk she was isolated in her room.  If she refused to wear the clothes her mother chose for her, she was whipped without mercy.  The little girl suffered in silence, unprotected and not loved.  A tear fell from Jesus’ eyes. He loved Brenda and He watched over her every day. He whispered words of encouragement in her little ears. He healed her wounds.

Philippians 1: 28: “Don’t be afraid of your enemies; always be courageous, and this will prove to them that they will lose and that you will win because it is God who gives you the victory.”

When the child grew she embraced her life by making herself invisible from the people who lived in her house.  She walked in the hallway with her back against the wall terrified that her older mentally ill sister would suddenly appear.  If she caught her she knew that the beating she would receive would be severe. Jesus knowing what was about to happen commanded Brenda to run as fast as she could away from her. Sometimes Brenda’s sister caught her and Jesus gave her the idea to curl up in a ball and cover her head with her arms to protect herself.  Jesus loved Brenda and He helped her by showing her the safe places in the top of closets. He even helped her climb a big tree to escape the daily evil she faced in her abusive home. He never left Brenda alone.

Philippians 1:29: “For you have been given the privilege of serving Christ, not only by believing in him, but also by suffering for him.”

Her parents were living their lives in a drunken stupor. They dragged the little girl to bars and left her to take care of herself for hours.  The little girl learned to play quietly under tables and in the bathroom.  Her parents were so consumed with living their lives that they ignored how unsafe the environments were for the little girl. Jesus witnessed her pain and gave her the courage she needed to live. He never left her alone.

Philippians 2: 1: “Your life in Christ makes you strong, and his love comforts you.  You have fellowship with the Spirit, and you have kindness and compassion for one another.”

Brenda loved to go to school and she excelled in every subject.  Her brilliants were recognized by the school and she was put in accelerated classes.  Jesus blessed her in everything she did. He taught her the difference between right and wrong and Brenda made choices to never be like her parents or sister. She was nice to her fellow students. She was compassionate when a child was hurt on the playground.  She encouraged another child when she was bullied by another student.  She learned to love others even when she was not loved at home.  Jesus was her teacher helping her to see that how she was treated at home was wrong. When Brenda was twelve she got sick and had to have her tonsils out.  Her mother dropped her off at the hospital and abandoned her for the next three days. She only came to the hospital to pick her up. Brenda was sick and alone, but Jesus never left her side.  He loved her even when her parents were too busy drinking to take care of her.  He used this time to teach her how wrong her parents were to leave her alone when she was sick.  Brenda learned lessons that helped her to decide to do the right thing even when the wrong thing was done to her.

Philippians 2: 14&15: “Do everything without complaining or arguing, so that you may be innocent and pure as God’s perfect children, who live in a world of corrupt and sinful people.  You must shine among them like stars lighting up the sky.”

When Brenda was sixteen and her sister was at college her mother had an operation.  Brenda stayed at the hospital and helped her mom.  When she came home to recover Brenda took care of her.  Brenda would never be like her mom. She would do the right thing even if her mother never did the right thing for her.  She had learned the lessons Jesus whispered in her ear as she grew up in a home where she was not loved.  She was a bright shining star for Jesus. When Brenda grew up she turned into a young woman with integrity and she had a determination to succeed.  She made choices to never drink.  She made choices to never abuse a child. She made good choices because she learned the lessons Jesus taught her from the suffering she went through in her childhood.  She went to college and became a Social worker and she helped abused children.  Later she helped patients who were victims of Aids. Many of them died from the disease and their deaths gave her a calling she never expected. Now she would dedicate her life to helping people who were dying.  As her career grew she felt a call from God to establish her own hospice business.  Determined to do God’s will she sold everything she had and began her own business.  She was very successful in everything she did because she loved Jesus.  The principles He taught her during her abusive childhood helped her to do the right thing for all the people she helped.  Brenda’s company became known throughout the entire state as a model for other hospices to follow.

Philippians 3:10&11: “All I want is to know Christ and to experience the power of his resurrection, to share in his sufferings and become like him in his death, in the hope that I myself will be raised from death to life.”

Does God allow child abuse?  “No!  He hates child abuse.” We live in a corrupt and evil world where people have the ability to make bad choices that hurt children.  They hurt children because they choose to do what is wrong.  Jesus loves children.  He sends His Holy Spirit to help them survive the trauma of abuse.  He blesses those who listen to His voice and gives them a better life that lifts them up and turns them into better people.  They are the people who run businesses with integrity.  They are the children who make a choice to live good lives that become role models for everyone else.

About the Author:
Linda Dipman is the author of “I Want to Know My Future” and “The Game of Life It’s Almost Over” She wrote these books after suffering persecution from her family, friends and church for being a homosexual. She was attacked by her church, thrown in jail for running with her children and deprived of justice from the courts. It was a defining moment that helped her to look back at what she believed was true about Christianity and find biblical answers to counter the false teachings of the church against homosexuals. It is her true life story and the answers she discovered from the teachings of the Holy Spirit.  She testifies that she survived the trauma of the terrible persecution only because of her deep rooted faith in Jesus Christ as her Savior. “God fought for my life because no one else would.”

It was foretold in the writing of Daniel that the Middle East nation of Israel would lose its distinction of being the chosen of God shortly after the death of Jesus. The prophecy has been fulfilled.

In chap. 9: 24-27, the angel Gabriel explained the prophecy to Daniel. The angel told him that 70 weeks were allotted for Daniel’s people – the Jews – to clean up and make atonement for their sinful behavior.

Using the prophetic day for a year principle, as most Bible scholars do, 70 weeks contain 490 days (7 days x 70 weeks=490 days). Therefore, the prophecy’s length of probation for the Jews to get their act together was 490 years.

Gabriel said the 70 weeks would begin at the issuing of the decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem. That took place when Persian King Artaxerxes issued the written order in the fall of 457 BC (Ezra 7: 7). Adding 490 years from that point, the prophecy would end in AD 34. (Seven years prior, at the end of 69 weeks or the 483rd year, Gabriel said would be the time of the Messiah. And sure enough, right on time in the fall of AD 27, the 15th year of Tiberius Caesar’s reign, Jesus’ anointed ministry began when He was baptized by John.)

The most significant recorded Bible event that took place in AD 34, the end of the 490 year prophecy, was the stoning death of Stephen who had infuriated the stoners by charging them with the death of the Messiah. Probation ended with the Jews not having accepted Jesus and God’s plan. It wasn’t long after that the Pharisee Saul, an instigator and witness of Stephen’s death, was converted to Christianity and God directed him and others to take the gospel to the Gentiles.

A New Nation

The Jewish nation, charged with holding the oracles of God and being the light that would present the Messiah to the world, failed. So God raised  another nation, as is seen in Peter addressing Christians—”You are a royal priesthood, a holy nation.’ (1 Peter 2: 9). Those were the words God had Moses express to Israel in Ex. 19: 6.

There is further evidence that the New Testament testifies that literal Israel is no longer God’s chosen vehicle; that a spiritual transition has taken place. The Apostle Paul says, “They are not all Israel who are descended from Israel, nor are they all [God's] children because they are Abraham’s descendants (Rom. 9: 6, 7). The children of God, he continues, are not those of the flesh, but are those of the promise (Rom. 9: 8). He goes on to say in Gal. 3: 7 that it is those of faith who, in so many words, will be the inheritors of God’s promises to Abraham.

Gal. 3:16 and 29 prove this to be true. In those verses it is made clear that the promises are made to Abraham’s seed—the seed being singular—the seed being Christ Jesus; and that if one’s faith is in Jesus, that person is incorporated into Jesus. That then would make the person a spiritual seed and heir of Abraham by virtue of being in Christ.

google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

Further illustrating that “spiritual” has replaced the “literal,” Paul says that one isn’t considered a Jew by outward appearances, but is considered one by circumcision of the heart, by the Spirit (Rom. 2: 28,29).

Then there is James, the brother of Jesus and the leader of the first Christian church. In Chap. 1, his letter is stated to be written to the 12 tribes dispersed abroad. Clearly he wasn’t speaking of the 12 literal tribes because 10 of the tribes had been taken into foreign captivity long before Christianity came on the scene. As a result, they lost their identities through intermarriage with other races in the conquering nations. A perfect example was the Samaritans who later occupied the conquered northern kingdom of Israel. They were called impure, half Jews.

James was speaking in the spiritual sense. He was addressing Christians, wherever they might be, as the body of Christ. To him they were spiritual Israel; a new nation; the kingdom of God composed of Jews and Gentiles who believe in Jesus.

Jesus is Israel

As mentioned, Jesus is the seed of Abraham, and the seed has always been thought of as Israel. The name Israel itself has to do with victorious striving  with God and striving with men (Gen. 32:28).

Obviously, this writing is presenting two Israels, the literal and the spiritual. Prophecy has many times been applied to the two, being dual in purpose. For example, the Lord told King David that his son Solomon would build the Lord’s house and courts (1 Chron. 28:6), which he did. However, the New Testament record cites Jesus as the true Son of David who would build an everlasting temple—His body, His church.

That Jesus is spiritual Israel can be seen in the following bulleted reprint from AmazingFacts.com. It shows how Jesus’ life paralleled that of literal Israel.

In the Old Testament, a man named Joseph has dreams and goes into Egypt to preserve his family (Genesis 45:5). In the New Testament, another Joseph likewise had dreams and goes into Egypt to preserve his family (Matthew 2:13).

When the young nation of Israel comes out of Egypt, God calls it “my son” (Exodus 4:22). When Jesus comes out of Egypt, God says “Out of Egypt have I called my son” (Matthew 2:15).

When Israel leaves Egypt, her people go through the Red Sea. The apostle Paul says they were “baptized unto Moses … in the sea” (1 Corinthians 10:2). Jesus is also baptized “to fulfill all righteousness,” and immediately afterward God proclaims Him, “my beloved Son” (Matthew 3:15-17)

After the Red Sea crossing, the Israelites spend 40 years in the wilderness—led by the pillar of fire, God’s Spirit. Immediately after baptism, Jesus is “led up of the Spirit into the wilderness” for 40 days (Matthew 4:1, 2).

At the end of the 40 years, Moses writes Deuteronomy. At the end of Jesus’ 40 days, He resists Satan’s temptations by quoting three Scriptures—all from Deuteronomy!

In Psalm 80:8, God calls Israel a “vine” that He brought “out of Egypt.” Jesus later declares, “I am the true vine” (John 15:1).

In the Old Testament, the name “Israel” first applied to one man: Jacob—representing his spiritual victory over sin. Even so, in the New Testament, Jesus Christ is the Israel who came “out of Egypt.” He is the one victorious man who overcame all sin!

More proof that the chosen people of God are in Jesus is understood in the new covenant outlined in Heb. 8: 8, and 10—”Behold, days are coming, says the Lord, when I will effect a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah…After those days, says the Lord, I will put My laws into their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they shall be My people.

Notice that the covenant is made with Israel and Judah (from which the name Jews are derived). Nowhere in the Bible is it found that a covenant is made with Gentiles. The blood that Jesus shed to effect the new covenant applies to all; and all who believe are born again, becoming spiritual Jews, in order to enter into the new spiritual covenant with spiritual Israel.

This gives understanding to the statement Paul made in Rom. 11: 26, in which he said, “And so all Israel shall be saved.” The popular belief in Christendom is that this means eventually all literal Jews will be saved. But there are not two different kinds of salvation—one for ethnic Jews, and one for everyone else.

The only way all Jews will be saved is for them to be spiritual Jews in Christ Jesus.

Conclusion

All of the foregoing is not meant to demean the Jewish nation. It is meant to set the record straight. God still loves all who live there, as, indeed, He loves all humanity. The door of probation that closed on Israel in Daniel, chap. 9, simply closed on it being God’s chosen instrument to herald to the world the good news about the Messiah. While the nation as a whole is no longer the chosen of God, individual Jews can be; that is, those who accept Jesus as Lord and Savior.

The Christian church, the body of Christ, made up of all nationalities have become spiritual Jews and the chosen people of God; charged with being the light of the world, spreading the gospel.

By Mark Sanford

Mankind has, since its inception, believed that the ability to love is the absolute attribute of existence.  Yet, mankind’s ability to “love” is just as shallow as his ability to define “love”.

Have we written enough poems, songs, books, articles, plays, sonnets, movies or whatever to express that we have no clue as to what love really is?  “Love means you never have to say you’re sorry.” I understand what the author was trying to express with this statement.  That is, if you truly love someone, you will do them no harm. However, since we are human, this statement not only contradicts all of the theology of the world, but it is illogical.  To express sorrow for offending another is the ultimate expression of humility and the path to doing the will of God.  You can find 10 thousand definitions of love in the writings of world, which again, only proves that we have no clue.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

Did Jesus say, “Your love has saved you.”?  No.  He said, “Your faith has saved you.”  The greatest attribute that we have been given by our Creator is the ability to understand that He loves us and will do what is always in our best interest.  This is called “faith”.   Only God can love.  It is beyond the ability of man to truly love.  “But I love my beautiful wife and my children.  And you know, that bum under the bridge needs to get a job.”  Typical statement, coming from a man that thinks he knows what love is.  That bum, you so sorely disposed of, is your child in another time and space.  If you looked upon him as that, you would race to his need, weeping for joy that you had found your lost child.  You would pick him up, regardless of how difficult he was to manage, and you would say, “I will take care of you and things will be better.”  This is the ultimate express of love, caring for all with an absolute faith in God’s help.  This is the ultimate expression of God, always concerned with the needs of others.  And this was the only thing that Christ did His entire life and death.

It is true that only God can love.  But, we can reflect His image in our lives by always considering the needs of others over ourselves.  And we can “love” our Creator by having a total faith in His love for us and emulating His essence by the way we treat others.

What can the Peace of God do for you? Human beings always want to know what is in a thing for them; what will be their benefits or profits before they agree on or do anything. If I go for this Peace you are talking about, will it solve all my problems? Which problems will it solve? This article lists seven benefits of this Peace plus 1 more

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid – John 14:27 (KJV)

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus – Philippians 4:7 (KJV)

The Benefits of the God-kind of peace

1. Good health - Many people are sick, some are hospitalized because they lacked Peace of mind. This peace will give you a rested soul and body. It will keep away worries, stress, depression, high blood pressure and heart related diseases. This reminds me of my mother who thought it was her duty to worry over things. Unfortunately, she developed high blood pressure and died earlier than she should. We really miss her.

2. Positive mindset- People who enjoy peace are positive minded. They expect the best of things. They think positively of people and situations. They don’t get worked up, thinking that things will certainly go wrong.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

3. Hope- The peaceful are hopeful and the hopeful are peaceful. When you are hopeless, you will become helpless. The peace of God is a powerful ingredient in building up your hope. You will know that everything will work out for your good and you will expect it to be so.

4. Build and fortify relationships- A peacemaker will always enjoy his or her relationships with others. Peace within you will manifest in your responses to issues. People will be drawn to you because they enjoy the peace that surrounds you: no tension or disputes over things. Being with you will be like medicine to their challenges plus 1 more.

5. Better working environment- Have you ever worked with someone who fights with everybody and everything? Not a place to be in, right? Such a person does not have peace of mind and is only venting it out on things and people instead seeking for help. But a peaceful person can help the troubled person and change the working environment. Peace is contagious.

6. Creativity- Peace enables one to be creative. The mind is restful, not crowded with worries and negative thoughts. A Peaceful mind is observant and very attentive. Ideas are quick to settle on a calm mind.

7. Satisfaction and contentment- It is very good to aim for better life, but only the peaceful will be able to be satisfied and contented with every level of progress, giving glory to God. Greed and peace don’t go together. A greedy person is never at rest because he is never satisfied.

8. Favour - A peaceful person is highly favoured. Everyone wants to be a blessing to person who never gives or entertains troubles. As long as it is within my ability, I will always go out of my way to help any peaceful person. Helping such a one will give joy plus 1 more satisfaction.

The peace of God is a must have virtue for anyone who desires to enjoy life and be successful in life. Lack of peace breeds undesirable ailments and circumstances. The good news is that God is ever ready to give this peace. Ask Him for it today, so that you can enjoy the above seven benefits plus 1 more.

INRI for short

Yeshua was called King of the Jews and King of Israel at two opposite moments in his life – at the moment of his birth and at the moment of his impending death. Interestingly, he, himself, is not on record anywhere as having used these epithets to refer to himself.

In the first instance, Matthew 2:1–12 claims that the magi, the famous wise men, asked where was, “the child who has been born king of the Jews?” Having observed the appearance of his star, they had come to pay him homage.

The second instance is about the iconic words that Pontius Pilate ordered to be written on the plaque that would be nailed on the cross above Yeshua’s head: Iesvs Nazarenvs Rex Ivdaeorvm [Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews nailed to the cross] or INRI for short.

According to John 19:20, though only Jews and the Roman soldiers lived in Jerusalem, except for a few merchants, this inscription had also been written in Greek and, of course, in Hebrew.

google_ad_channel = “7940249670, ” + AB_cat_channel + AB_unit_channel;
google_language = “en”;
google_ad_region = ‘test’;

Yeshua like those belonging to the Issyim had always been pictured wearing a simple robe of undyed cotton. Shortly after his arrest, however, a robe, either scarlet or purple was thrown over his shoulders. Both colors are the noble colors of royalty and, unless all abstraction is made of Yeshua’s connection to to the Issiyim, to the Sicarri, to Yohannan/the Baptist and to the political support he had across Galilee and Judea, there is no reason to assume that the kingly title was given to him in random derision.

Mark 15:17:They put a purple robe on him, then twisted together a crown of thorns and set it on him.

Why such a grotesque charade for a small-time trouble-maker arrested for a moment of explosive anger directed at some of his own people while in the Temple compound? Why did the next two gospel writers, Matthew and John, writing separately across several years, each one unknown to the other, choose to revisit this moment in their own text?

Probably because, embedded as everyone was, in the ongoing political turmoil between Rome and the Jews, they accepted the cue Mark had passed on to them from the original scroll he had adapted. Matthew and John understood the true timeless political nature of the moment.

Matthew 27:28: They stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him.

John 19:2: The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns and put it on his head. They clothed him in a purple robe.

The fellow had been caught haranguing a few priests about their facile application of the Torah dictates. In anger, he had upturned a couple of the heavy, solid wood tables belonging to merchants and money-changers who, according to Yaweh’s clear and uncompromising commandment, should have been ordered to abstain from dealing with money until sunset on this and every seventh day. The priests should have sent the men home to observe Shabbat, the day God had set aside for rest and compulsory religious reflection.

About the Author:
Naked Spirituality – A Soul’s Quest
Born of French parents in Casablanca, I am a native French speaker, although I completed my formal education in the United States at The University of Texas [Austin], majoring in English Literature.
By day, a teacher of English. by night, in 2000, I launched into the writing of lesbian romance novels with a definite slant on social realism.
I went on to self-publish seven books, the best- selling ones being Silent Goodbyes, Far From Maddy and its sequel centered around an empathetic FTM character, Morgan in the Mirror.
From there, I published various short stories with themes ranging from sensual ‘fairy’ tales, The Crab-Catcher and the Fish-Whisperer, to strong spiritual writings such as Awakening, a Tao-type tale.
It is around 2006 that I chose to dedicate my writing time to All Matters of the Soul. I have since published many articles deconstructing karma, Soul, conditional love, being present in the moment – all the classic concepts of spirituality – from a different perspective, the only one that works for me.
This led me to the making a series of bite-sized video clips on these concepts.
One of my most recent endeavors focuses on the conundrum posed by Jesus of the Christian faith and his historicity.
Did such an historical figure ever really exist?
What if the Jesus of the New Testament fame had been inspired by a Hebrew prototype named Yeshua? Such questions have resulted in a long series of articles which have been posted right here, on Articlesbase.
It is commonly agreed that the gospel writers were heavily inspired by the Five Books of Moses – known as the Torah – and by the Book of [Hebrew] Prophets. So am I – from a secular perspective.
As a result of this inspiration, my current project is a short novelization of the last twenty-four hours in the life of Yeshua/Jesus, which relies heavily on research gathered while writing the above-mentioned series of articles.
This piece titled, From Gethsemane to Arimathea begins moments before Yeshua’s arrest in the gardens of Gethsemane. The last scene will take place in the garden belonging to Yosef of Arimathea for it is on this land that, hewn out of the cliff face, stood the rich merchant’s family burial chambers – one of which, it is said, he made available to the body of Yeshua.
Culturally and religiously speaking, the womenfolk closest to Yeshua [his wife, Myriam Magdalene, his mother, Myriam, and his sister, Salome] could not visit the rock burial chamber until after the Jewish celebrations of Pesach and the compulsory days of ‘sitting shiva’ had been observed.
Thus, it was on the 29th day of Nissan [fifteen days after Yeshua expired on a Roman cross] that the women, the first mourners to pay their respect, went to the chamber and were most surprised to find the it empty of his body.
It is somewhere near that point in the plot that will end this novelization of events that, real or imagined, have shaped two thousand years of secular western culture in ways that are difficult to fathom – and in that lies my newfound enthusiasm for the topic.
All of this has kept me busy – and out of trouble – for quite some time already :-)

                   CLOUDS, HORSES, SIGNS JESUS WILL SOON RETURN

In early 2012 God began showing me all kind of miracles concerning clouds. I then met this female who was also seeing the exact same things I was seeing in clouds. A year earlier a female prophetess had prophecized that I would meet a woman who would become my wife. Ironically a different female prophetess had prophecized the same thing to that female who was seeing the same things that I was seeing. She and I have been supernaturally seeing horses and horse heads and horse clouds since the day we became a couple. We broke up for a little while and the early morning that we reunited I also saw a horse cloud prior to our reunion that morning.

Anyway my book publisher changed my book cover into guess what….clouds.

I received the book in the mail today and eventually noticed a miracle which is definitely God’s confirmation of Jesus Christ Coming For His Bride.

On my book cover (The Most Accurate Interpretation Of Revelation) is a rider on a standing horse embedded with in the clouds! Praise God.

I was given a small porcelain cross at my baptism. It is white, with a Precious Moments figurine kneeling in prayer. I don’t remember who gave it to me, but I still have it. It has hung on the wall of every room I ever lived in, until I got married. It has always brought me comfort and peace and it is something that I hope to pass down to my own children.

For a Catholic family, the baptism of a new baby is an incredibly important day. As the first and most important Sacrament, a baby’s baptism is his or her first step in a lifetime walk with Christ. Family and friends gather around to celebrate his or her memorable day. The baby is often showered with gifts – Bibles, crosses, rosaries, money, or more.

As a first step in the child’s walk of faith, baptism gifts can provide the baby with items he or she can use for the rest of their life, particularly as they learn to celebrate and embrace their faith. My Special Place has a variety of crosses and crib medals that would make the perfect gift for a child celebrating his or her baptism.

My Special Place offers a number of crosses in a variety of materials and finishes including pewter, porcelain, and gold. Some are gender neutral and some are designed specifically for boys or girls. Many come with inscriptions, such as “Bless this Child,” or “In One Spirit all of us are Baptized into the one body of Christ.”  Most of the crosses feature images of children kneeling in prayer.

My Special Place also offers crib medals. In the tradition of protecting a baby with God’s prayer as they sleep, the medals feature a depiction of the famous Angel on the Bridge. It is cast in sterling silver by the Salerni studios in Italy, and makes a beautiful addition to a nursery.

I could write pages about the wide variety of high-quality items that My Special Place carries for Baptism gifts, but the items speak for themselves.  A child’s Baptism is an incredibly important day in their life and the gifts they are given by their loved ones will be something they’ll treasure forever. A wall cross or crib medal is the perfect Baptism gift for the special baby in your life.
